A True Voice to Help Students Navigate the College Process
What We Do
Vox Cambridge provides highly personalized, custom college consulting with sensitivity and warmth. We help students gain insight into their true personality and character, then express it in a way that turns heads. We carefully select colleges for the best match with a student, and formulate a far-reaching strategy driven by the student’s unique gifts and accomplishments. In Latin, Vox means voice; we will help your student's true voice be heard.
Vox Cambridge will work with your student to:
Refine high school coursework plans, testing schedules, and extracurricular activities
Research colleges and develop a balanced list of colleges based on your student’s needs and desires
Look at the student’s teacher relationships in thinking about which teachers to ask for letters of recommendation
Identify and recommend extracurricular and summer activities, including internship opportunities
Plan college visits (in person or virtual), and prepare for college interviews
Keep your student on task to complete all components of the college application—all with little stress
Brainstorm and provide feedback on personal statements and essays through our exciting and … yes, fun, essay writing workshops
Evaluate offers of admission as well as develop a strategy for waitlist and deferral decisions
How It Works
We aim high and achieve high. Our students have success gaining admission to their chosen schools. Not only that, most receive merit scholarships at some schools, and some are awarded additional research grants.
Ours is a highly custom, individualized process. Our work encourages self-discovery. We take the lead from the student's unique blend of interests, gifts and achievements to form a highly personal winning strategy.
We take the pressure off. We hit the ground running to achieve optimal results. But unlike most college consultancies, Vox Cambridge doesn't assign homework. All the student's work with us is accomplished with great efficiency during our regular meetings. Under our tutelage, your student's stress level (and yours!) is likely to decline dramatically.
Our work with each student is a sacred trust. If you honor us with your trust, we promise you and your student the warmth, concern, and dedication we show our own family and friends.
When to Start
Students will greatly benefit from starting with Vox as early as 9th grade. The majority of our students begin working with us in 10th grade, but we're happy to step in even later in a student's high school career.
Whether your child is staring down applications at the 11th hour as a senior, just beginning the process of navigating course options and extracurriculars as a 9th grader in high school, or beginning the more refined college exploration process as a sophomore or junior, we offer a student-focused strategy sensitive to individual personalities and goals.
Graduate School: Vox clients include college students or college grads who are entering the graduate school process. We offer our same exceptional process at that level.
Transfer Students: Our clients include college students who are looking for a better match—we work with students on finding that. Our transfer students have a second chance at having "no regrets."
